Karanvir Singh Sibia

Born on Oct 10, 1954 to blessed parents, Sardar Gurbaksh Singh Sibia and Sardarni Beant Kaur.

 

Being the chairman of Sangrur Heritage Preservation Society, he has left no stones unturned to preserve the diminishing royal buildings of Jind State. His society has been successful in bringing the condition of such buildings to the notice of authorities and getting them restored to their original glory.

 

He is the trustee of renowned General Gurnam Singh Public School, Sangrur and Akal Degree College for Women, Sangrur. His commiserative nature made him the founder member of “Nanhi Jaan”, a project of Veeranwali foundation known to be involved in emergency support and education for under privileged children.

 

Not only this, for drawing the present and coming generations closers to our rich literature, culture and heritage, Sr. Karanvir along with others, brought the idea of celebrating Sangrur Heritage & Literary Festival – 2015 and 2016 on the pathway of Jaipur Lit Fest. He, Being the Vice- President of Patiala’s deaf, dumb and blind school, Sr. Sibia is taking much pains in organizing various medical camps for the impecunious. To celebrate the glorious and benevolent life of his majestic father, Sardar Gurbaksh Singh Sibia, whose whole existence was meant for others, Sardar Karanvir Singh Sibia wrote his biography “A Life well Lived”, making him immortal for centuries. Currently he is writing his second book “Punjab’s Royal Heritage, Our Pride” which is due for release in the coming year.
